The idea for the service came from the observation that purchasing a calling card had become an excessively complex decision. With all the different fees and charges, consumers can no longer determine the cost of the minutes they were purchasing. ThePrepaidGuru.com was devised to answer the simple question: “how many minutes does this calling card give me?”
THE FOUNDERS
Raphael Ezry and Martin Slon have been working in the telecommunications industry for more than 10 years each. Most recently, they lead TúYo Mobile, a division of IDT ,to become a significant nationwide prepaid wireless provider to the US Hispanic community. Their experience at TúYo Mobile and IDT provided them with hand-on experience in understanding and catering to the needs of prepaid consumers.
In addition to TuYo Mobile, they both previously worked at Lucent Technologies. After Lucent they moved to IDT Telecom, a leading carrier and provider of prepaid calling cards, where they acquired insight into the prepaid calling cards market and built a vast network of industry contacts. Mr. Ezry has an MBA from Columbia University and Mr. Slon has an MBA from the University of Michigan..
